Lost or broken reader? Nothing to redo
The band is the bird's identity. Your CoopAI account stores the link between that band ID and the bird, and the reader is just a replaceable scanning tool. Any supported compatible 134.2 kHz ISO 11784/11785 FDX-B reader that outputs a readable tag ID can be swapped in without re-tagging birds.
Readers format the same ID in different ways, with dots, dashes, extra leading zeros, or a hex code block. CoopAI folds every scan into one canonical 15 digit animal ID before looking up the bird, so a replacement reader still finds the same chicken. If a scan cannot be decoded with certainty, CoopAI keeps the exact value your reader sent and flags it rather than guessing.
